    i know, it's probably just me, but lately it seems that when I click on a promising looking thread on these BBs, I'm directed to the web address of a youtube video. Has actual conversation died here?

    I dunno about that, but the '+1' button has made me lazy lately. Sometimes I find myself just up-voting the comment closest to my own opinion.

    Yeah... my iMac has video card issues, can't play anything on youtube. So I'm missing out on a lot of relevant threads.

    I am both a guilty and an affected party.
    affected - no you tube access when browsing (like now) from my kindle DX. guilty - I have made posts like that

    Guilty as charged, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, how many is a video worth.

    Maybe we need a video thread to go with the hotlink thread.
