    Son of a lawyer. Married to a lawyer (basically). I'm surrounded.

    Pay tickets that don't carry points, and pay them on time, no funny stuff. Fix those that do in the only way that works: with a lawyer, from the 'inside.' It's an exclusive club, no laymen allowed, and all the deals get done behind closed doors. Accept that, play their game, and your blood pressure and stress levels will thank you.

    I understand where you're coming from with the letter, but save your stamp.

    Anyway, confuZion3 and MCarp22 have the right idea. They've shown you no respect, so don't bother to supplicate - it'll only make you feel worse.

    I know two kinds of cops: those that were bullies, and those that were bullied. It's the latter group that you've gotta watch out for.

    (Actually, I know a lot of cops, and folks that have become cops since I've met them, and they're generally good people. For as many of them that go into public service for the right reasons, though, there are just as many who start for the wrong reasons. I just wish I could tell which was which from my side-view mirror when they're walking up to my window.)

    (And then there's security guards: the people who couldn't pass the tests to become cops. And have you ever seen them shoot? Hoo, boy...)
