Well I had an interesting day. I passed a Spanish test I was sure I failed, the girl friend called said a chunk of metal came through the windshield of their work truck (everyone is fine), and my grandparents just gave $750 to put into the engine and trans of my Olds .

They never know what to get me and hate trying to figure it out themselves. They asked if I needed anything for the car and jokingly I said yeah I still need the engine and trans I have lined up. Their response "Okay how much is it going to cost. Merry Christmas". I sat there shocked tried to refuse but they weren't having it, so looks like in the next week or so I will be picking up the 355 and 4spd before it starts snowing hard. Oh and I just lined up a 12 bolt rear from a '68 Buick Skylark to go in the back.

Yeah I was floored I could not believe it when they insisted on it. They said it was far better they thought helping me out with that than getting me something that would end up sitting on a shelf. They gave it to me now because soon the pass to get where the engine is will get snowed in. They hate gifts that can't be regularly used so normally they just give me cash or try and figure out things like this. I have to agree I hate getting and giving the normal "gift" stuff. I would much rather buy things for people they will actually use.

Wow, maturity shows it's ugly head!! I'm 64 and have 3 great grand kids. The "joke" is that their plumbing works better than their brains. At least ONE couple is actually married. Argghh. Old fart signing off now.
