Ore. man guilty of sexually assaulting prostitute 11/18/2008, 7:18 a.m. PST The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man who admitted to sexually assaulting at least 20 prostitutes has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

A Multnomah County jury on Monday convicted John Wayne McKinley of sodomy and unlawful use of a weapon after a woman reported she was attacked while carrying groceries to her motel room.

A judge ruled the 47-year-old McKinley should be listed as a dangerous offender and serve at least half his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

McKinley was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the 1980s after he pleaded guilty to raping three prostitutes.

Prosecutors said McKinley sexually assaulted prostitutes because they were unlikely to report the attacks to police. © 2008 Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.

John Wayne Gacy killed a bunch of young men and buried them in his crawlspace in the Chicago area. He was also a part-time clown in the community.

Wonder what is with the "dukes" name?

There is a local free 'paper here in Memphis that has a column on an irregular basis called News of the Weird, every now and then they run stories about famous names of criminals, and John Wayne is a name that pops up often as a middle name for criminals. For some reason, you hear more about criminals with John Wayne as middle names, being involved in very violent crimes....as opposed to say bank robbers or non-violent sex offenders.

Money and sex aren't what motivates someone to do something like that. A sociopathic desire to have power over another person is what motivates someone to do that.
