Alex Zanardi won the paracycle class today at the New York City Marthon. He hopes to qualify for the paralympics in London next year, and has three marathon wins so far this year. He won by about 2 seconds, at the age of 45. What an inspiration!

The man is simply awesome, words can't convey my respect for him.

Did ya read the book yet? I found a lot more respect for him in the pages of his autobiography. An incredible man, for sure.

I can't remember how long it was after his terrible accident...not so very long at all, though...like a couple of months...he calls a friend and says: "Guess what I'm doing." The friend thinks Zanardi is going to report some small milestone in his rehab. "What's that, Alex?"
"I'm driving 230 kph on the Autobahn."
Edit: Wondered about my memory and looked it up. It was exactly two months. Max Papis called him. It was in Italy, not Germany. It was 240 kph.

Go Alex! I'm happy to see that he keeps living his life and racing.
