As a kid I played all the "traditional" sports. ( Football, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Tennis, Soccer-- even Gymnastics and Track and Field)

Nothing.....nothing came even remotely close to the fun I had in organized tackle football. The others were fun, but there is nothing quite like running down the field on the kickoff team and unloading every bit of energy in your body on some poor sap. Sorry, but sometimes violence is fun.

Alas I'm not a big guy, and I can't run the 40 in 4 seconds, so my illustrious football career was cut short. Probably a good thing, as my knees are still in good shape.

I played them all as well except baseball and golf. The football coach at my High school wanted me to play strong safety but I chose soccer instead. I liked soccer better just because it required more creative on the part of the player. So much of football always seemed to be the coach coming up with plays rather then the player creating something whether it was through a beautiful pass, move or shot. I enjoy watching soccer because I like to see those passes and moves and there is nothing which matches seeing wonderful goal like Tiote's goal to tie the Newcastle v Arsenal game last season.

I would rather watch American football then any sport except rugby, real football and hockey though.

Also my dad is British which is why I still call soccer football.

They are two different kinds of games, but the facts are: Football in America brings in way more fans and $ than soccer. So picking soccer to be creative is like being one of those hipsters everyone hates. :) (im just joshing ya). But seriously, I don't see soccer games here in the states bringing in the crowds that college football does or even the NFL.

my inlaws are those people that have 3 tvs out in the LR for football season... I never understood it... I can appreciate the sport... but could care less to watch... to this day if I go to a game (HS or college) it's more about the band... yes I was/am a band geek...

To be fair, the the Buccaneers SHOULD NEVER fill up Raymond James Stadium. They need the extra space to put all the walkers and Rascals.

That's because us Bucs fans would rather piss off all the Steeler's fans in Florida by not filling up the stadium and blacking out the game throughout Central Florida. Why? BC we don't like Rapelisberger or Kid Crosby.

    In reply to DirtyBird222:

You are probably right about the more fans. I don't think American football will ever become popular outside the US though. I just wish it was popular enough that I could even get Fox Soccer channel on cable where I am.

As a Suckaneers 'fan' (sorry, I don't believe they really exist,) you do realize your team was the only one in the NFL to have EVERY home game blacked out last season, right?

You realize your QB has rightfully earned this right?
