Okay so here is the deal. My stepdad had an 81' CM 400C sitting in a shed. I wanted to start riding so I went and pulled it out. It had been sitting there for about 7 years. So I took it out and started the project. Found a gas tank for it (the original was rusted through), then took it to a new local bike shop. The owner and I worked out a deal where I could come work on it and he help me when needed. We rebuilt the carb, and tried to start it, started right up (these hondas or tough). Got everything going and changed the oil and everything. Now when we give it gas it starts to die. which tells me its getting too much gas. We checked the floats in the carb and they are good dont seem to have a leak. When we turn the gas off it drains and then we can rev it up and it takes gas but when we turn the gas back on we can't give it gas. Just wondering if ANYBODY out there would have any idea what this could be. PLEASE post back with any questions or ideas!!!

Not too much gas, it's not enough. There are two jets in the carb, one for idling and one for revving. The second, bigger jet has schmutz in it. It may look clean, but run a piece of weding wire through it several times.
