Did anybody else get the Porsche Cayman R ad in the mail recently? This thing was amazing. The outer box contained folder, snapped closed. Open the folder, and there's a hard bound, childrens's book sized 50 page catalog for the Cayman R. Lots of pretty pictures, and text to convince the reader that this is a very special model intended only for unique individuals like YOU. All the usual specs, color choices, and options occupy several pages in the back. This ad must have cost a fortune to produce, being printed in Germany.

I'm not sure where they got my name. It was addressed to my full name including my middle initial, which I rarely use, certrainly not with any car club or subscription stuff. I'm certainly not a qualified prospect for them. The combined value of the six cars currently in my driveway would not come close to the price of a Cayman. I suspect one of it's wheels and tires represents my entire budget fot the Tiger this year.

    Anyway, watch your mailboxes.

Being retired, my play car budget is probably even lower than yours. However I would love to get one of those ads! I'm on a ton of mailing lists but they are usually for time share condos. You obviously walk in taller cotton than most!

I didn't get one, but my neighbor did. I didn't catch the MSRP of the car, did you? Didn't get a chance to look at it too closely.

It's probably for the better that I'm not lusting after another car right now. My Carrera is already in the shop for RMS, IMS and clutch issues.

Price? This was a fantasy wish book, no reality allowed.

And Rupert, the cotton ain't too tall around here. The newest car in my fleet is 2001, and I've had one or more kids in college every year since 2002.

It's going to be a collector's item. Don't get rid of it.

I agree! A few years down the road a Cayman owner won't be able to win at a Porsche Concours unless he has that ad in sight in his car!

I didn't get it. If anyone can share it then it would be great. I think for all of the collectors and car lovers it would be worth having.
