Can you provide any more details on the GT500 hood vent installation, and any high temp track day difference it made in engine cooling?

In reply to MattGent:

Installation was done by Treasure Coast Miata - it was highly experimental but came out perfect. Lots of measuring before cutting. It does make the hood lighter, little weaker and does flex slightly above 100mph+ - freaked out an instructor once as he thought hood wasn't closed. It made a pretty good incremental difference in cooling. I did it in this order and would do it over again as the car runs perfect now with the combination of (1) decent eBay radiator, (2) A/C delete, (3) venting, (4) coolant reroute kit. It runs in the low 190s while on track. I have the 2nd fan (normally A/C fan) hooked up to the fog light button for cool down, I turn it on the moment the track session is over for the cool down lap. Car runs all day at Sebring / Homestead with ease. Let me know if there are any pictures you'd like to see up close of any part. I did the reroute last, probably could keep A/C for those wanting to.

Thanks. I have a/c, and a couple times at Sebring in summer the temp will creep up after 6-8 laps, have to take a lap off for it to come back down. I did a bunch of shrouding to the front, but a vent like this would help a lot I'm guessing. I do not have the reroute, and car is basically stock otherwise.

Paint on my hood is fairly shot anyways, was thinking of cutting a vent into it.
