Here is as close to a drop in race car power train for a BMW as I could assemble. description as follows:

I bought all of this from a fellow club racer after the 2012 season with grand ideas about building a formula car suspended E30 with class winning power... but, ambition and goals have changed a bit and it's time to let it go. I never installed any of it and it's all nice and clean in my heated garage reminding me of unfulfilled dreams and wasted money. It's time to let it go... and redirect funds to the car that replaced it.

  • Stock S54 engine. 57k on totaled donor car + 2 dyno days and 6 races in 2012. Brand new Bosch alternator
  • SuperSprint headers (Version 1, stepped)
  • E46 Bimmerworld CSL Carbon Fiber plenum w/ filter and CF shroud. This one: http://store.bimmerworld.com/e46-m3-carbon-plenum--airbox---motorsport-and-csl-versions-p1242.aspx
  • Epic ECU with AlphaN software and some extra dyno tuning matched to the parts. (351hp/267tq).
  • Bimmerworld 3.5" E46 Race exhaust with merge pipe & muffler (for E46 chassis... but I was planning to mod it to fit my CM E30). This one: http://store.bimmerworld.com/bimmerworld-e46-m3-exhaust---race-version-p1682.aspx
  • Bimmerworld / CR oil cooler w/ AN plumbing & custom reinforced end plates. It has a superficial ding in the shroud. It is otherwise perfectly functional (see pics). This one: http://store.bimmerworld.com/bimmerworldcr-racing-e36-oil-cooler-p1662.aspx

Also have: Quarter Master 5.5" V-Drive twin disk clutch with button flywheel mated to S54 automatic flex plate. VAC Tilton hydraulic throw out bearing adapter plate. All NIB, uninstalled. Has WRC rally pucs to allow it to survive a little paddock slippage. Tilton TO bearing not included.

I'm looking for $12k obo for the whole lot minus the clutch. Not ready to part it out yet.

Clutch setup $1100 obo.

Located near Scranton, PA. I can load it onto your truck and might be in the mood to deliver it within a reasonable distance if you are the sort of person who provides cold beer.

Thanks for looking. Contact me at the email under the avatar with any questions, etc.

If you were to happen to have a fine example of a 2003 - 2005 BMW R1150 GSA, decent approximation of same or cool car without rust (TR-6, GT-6, MGB-GT, 2002, E30, E36... ) or a single phase milling machine & tooling in good shape a partial trade might be negotiable.

In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker: Don't limit yourself to single phase for your mill. All the good machines are 3 phase, and static phase converters are dirt cheap, variable frequency drives aren't too expensive, and rotary phase converters are badass.

(I'd buy your whole mess and put it in my 525iT, but I spent all my money on the race car)
