If you have liked this car longer than that CL ad's been around, you will kick yourself when it's gone and not in your driveway.
If you need a monetary reason to go get it, here's a cool looking, albeit scruffy, R8 that went for $15k

The R8 and R10 are very similar except for the R10 is a bit longer and styled different at the ends. Just an FYI for those look at these old Renaults, a Smart ForTwo has a wider track. I'm 6'1" 180lbs and fit nicely in the car, however. But I also fit nicely in NA Miatas; YMMV.
My brother and I intend to go look at this thing next week if it is still around. Family commitments prevent earlier movement...

Some internet sleuthing revealed that he probably purchased it for about $3500, and he recently had it posted to Ebay, but it only got bid to about $3000 - reserve not met. So it seems that the car is not as valuable as I thought. I guess people like R8s a lot more.
