Hey GRMers, still on the hunt for an E36 M3. The goal is to use the car for aX and beginning HPDE events, so anything modified to that effect would also be awesome. My main requirements are:
- Above all, the more maintenance the better
- Any year ok, would prefer 96+
- Any color ok
- No convertibles, but ok with sedan or coupe
- Must be manual
- Looking to spend around 8500 at most
- Clean title/ no rust
- Would prefer to be within 1000 miles of NYC
I saw the one that just got posted here, but it looks to be just a bit too far away (not a super big fan of white sedans). But please, if you have anything or know anyone that does, post here, and we can exchange contact info. I'm really itching to get back into one of these cars, and I would love to buy from a GRMer or someone who really cares for an appreciates these cars.
I understand that for that price, the cars might not be in the nicest cosmetic condition or might have a few mechanical faults. Not a problem, just show me what you have, and I'll be happy to talk. Thanks in advance, everyone!

I am actually about to list mine for sale. It's a 1998 sedan with 150k. All maintenance is up to date. New clutch and fly wheel. Square setup with new rs4 tires. Konis, eibach springs, turner motorsports sways, new hawk pads. It's ready to go for track days etc... or you could drive it every day.
No rust, NC car. Previous owner had it for approximately 10 years.
Looks like CMP paddock? This is the right way to buy an M3.

It's funny, I actually followed both his purchase and build threads, particularly as the timing of the former was right as I was really starting to get interested in these cars. Not the biggest fan of black, but to be honest, might help me blend in on the mean streets of queens :) The car looks awesome.

Just saw your post on Bimmerforums- good luck with your search too. I'm wary of a lot of local cars (northeast) for the same reason. Rust plagues a number of otherwise great examples...

Look at volvoclearinghouse's post above. White, but it's a coupe. Originally a Southern car, currently located in Maryland.
