2k clear coat question

Can I spray 2k clear coat over my paint weeks after I painted the car , my Alfa Romeo spider?

The technical answer is NO. 24 hours is about the longest window for clearing over base that I have seen. After that you are supposed to scuff the  basecoat, apply another layer of color and then clear within 24 hours.

The correct answer might be "No  such thing as can't, don't or won't, when you have to."

I mean, the paints on, what else you gonna do?
