I figured I'd get my old Cyclecraft cruiser down from the attic. I bought in 1994 or so and rode it until 2000-ish. It's been in the attic since then, but I figured I'd see how it feels. I made it to my neighbor's driveway before the rear tube spectacularly exploded.

If only there was fire involved. I'm sure it would have been Hongtastic

I got an early 70's Schwinn Suburban that had been sitting for a long time. I aired up the tires and took it out for a couple mile ride. By the time I got back, the valve stem had completely broken down and inflated. It seriously looked like a black marble instead of a valve stem. I parked it on the porch and it blew up just sitting there within a day. Glad that didn't happen while I was going down that giant hill two miles from my house!

No, no fire, but the tube did somehow leave the inside of the tire and get wrapped around the freewheel.
