Dad brought his Honda Trail 90 out for Thanksgiving and we all took a spin to see what it could do. Something to be said for light weight, low gearing, and simplicity. It will go anywhere!

1970, under 300 original miles. Looks and runs new.

Dad cranking her up. (by a strange coincidence, we found another one in our relative's garage!)

    Dad touring the fields:

    Cousin Lyle taking her around:

    Serious mud bogging:

    Really fun little motorcycle/scooter/offroader.

    They're huge in Australia.

Looks like you can pretty much bolt on a 110 motor. I'd love to find one for cheap, maybe I should start looking.

Big bore kits are cheap and easy, too.

Very cool! I have a t-shirt that reads:

"My Neon's Daddy is a Hemi Road Runner..

    Your Honda's Daddy is a Trail 90."

OK, maybe that's a bit harsh for the Honda fanbois, but look at it this way.. how often are one of these cool little scooters compared to such an awesome muscle car?

A Hemi Road Runner with a Trail 90 in the trunk.. now THAT would be cool!

Had a friend in high school that had a couple of these, one for everyone in the family. They also had that big tired Suzuki Rover 90cc thing also. That thing was a blast with the tires bouncing.

Yeah, but if you want to talk about big cubic inches and massive torque from Honda there's always the....OK nevermind.

Dad bought one new. Wish I'd had the foresight to keep it. Wonderful bike, if a bit geeky.

Very Nice!! Do you have any manuels? I brought one home in November, just getting it back together.

  • Jan. 7, 2010 12:16 a.m. born2div New Reader

Mine is a Honda ct90KO 1968 didn't see pay attention yours is a 1970 but it's very NICE. The other one I brought home is a Yamaha 2006 Grizzly ATV with 18 hours on it. If you have a place where I can get parts , better yet a web site with Pictures would be nice for the HONDA!

I had one of these in the mid 1990's when we lived in Cass City, MI for about 3 years. Mine was yellow, like the one pictured in your relative's garage. Purchased it from a co-worker and I enjoyed riding the trails for miles. I think the engine only made around 7 bhp, but it would go over 45 mph. Enjoy your trail bike!
