Just finished my '87 gsxr 750.

    • stock frame, 91 forks, ohlins shock
    • Bandit 1200 motor, 1216cc JE pistons, ported, lightened crank, crower rods, titanium retainers, big valves, etc etc.

Lots of other crap - 1987 Japan-market only 'Hyper Endurancer' paint scheme.

Here it is before the decals and lower fairings. I'll try to get some new ones.

Nice old Gixxer. Always wanted one in the Vanilla Ice paint scheme.

Did they start upside-down forks in '91? I thought it was later...

    Damned nice bike, regardless.

    Yeah! Go for it!

As for the USDs - 1991 was the first year in the USA. In other markets the 1990s had USDs. The 88-90 right-side-up forks are actually pretty good. The internals are the same between the USDs and RWUs but the USDs are much stiffer (and significantly heavier). I used them because I like the way they look. If I was building a race bike I would be tempted to use those.
