Its been about 3 years since I have owned a motorcycle and I have been wanting to get another once pretty much since I sold my last one. Finally bit the bullet and got a 2003 Honda CBR954RR. Ever since I worked as a motorcycle tech these have been one of my favorite bikes. All the power of a liter bike in a package about the same size and weight of a 600. This bike is pretty modded...some cosmetic things like an undertail, flush mount blinkers, windscreen, polished lips on the rims, and a couple of other things. Also has a power commander, frame sliders, aftermarket air filter, and came with a full exhaust. I didn't like the exhaust it came with so I put the stock system back on. Planning on getting a titanium Akrapovic full exhaust and getting it dyno tuned. Bought a nitrous system as well, but not planning on installing that until I get tired of how fast it is now...that may take a while! Here are a couple pics:

Yup.....I would have a very short life most likely after climbing on it that. just sayin

I'm sure most people would say the same thing about modern bikes fifty years ago. The Vincent Black Shadow and Kawasaki H2, both "widowmakers" of their time, hardly compare to today's more docile powerhouses.

wow...that vincent makes a whopping 5hp more than my EX500. The H2 or H3 with an unpredictable 2-stroke power band would still make me nervous in the corners

Supposedly the H2 was more of an issue due to a poorly designed suspension and frame... and brakes, and steering, rather than outright power.

Yes, yes it is. haha OK maybe not necessary, but an extra 25 hp is always a good thing!

I had a custom road racing frame from England on mine and it was still terrifying! I really shouldn't be here.

Very nice. Good to see another person with a modern crotch rocket on here.

nice pick up... I have an '02 F4i and have liked the 954 for a while. Not sure if I'll ever get one though- I'm really happy with the 600cc powerplants.

F4is are great bikes, definitely my favorite pre-600rr honda 600. I started with a FZR600 before moving on to a CBR900RR then my CBR954RR. I just love the raw power a liter bike produces, its great to be able to get the front wheel off the ground out of power alone in the first 4 gears! Haha. Eventually I am going to get a hayabusa for longer rides, I absolutely love riding busas...
