I always hear people complain that Honda's Enduro-Style bike the Transalp is not sold in the US. I rented "Observe and Report" over the weekend (boredom + cheap PPV = this rental) and Seth Rogan rode a Transalp! I checked, and sure enough it was available here in the late 80's. Never knew that!

A friend of mine had one until he got cut off by a guy in an Escort and T-boned him.
I loved that bike. I think they were sold here for three years.

That motor was the hot swap for NT650 / Hawk GTs for a while.

You are incorrect sir. the africa twin 850 (not available in the USA) was the hot motor for the hawk GT swap, the transalp motor was also a 650 (for the amaerican version at least)

Ah yes. It's been a while since I was looking for one. Thanks for the correction!

Good bikes, very popular with the adventure rider crowd. They still come up for sale quite a bit, and you can get them for $2500-$3500 pretty often.
