93EX, the 175cc CT3 and the IT400 (or the 465/490! ) have, like, nothing in common power wise.

fox, I was just saying that the new gen thumpers are nothing like the old ones. In many ways they are similar to the current crop of 2 smokers to ride. I always thought it was funny that in the off road racing world people would put flywheel weights and extra base gaskets (lowers the compression and changes port timing) on 2 strokes so they'd run more like 4 strokes, then the 4 stroke guys would cut off flywheel weight and go with radical cams so they'd be more like 2 strokes.

74 Honda XL250 Classic Enduro Dual Sport - $650 (wi) - I really like the look of this one. I've always been a fan of older enduro's. I mean look at it!

Damn if I didn't find one of these today. Must be serendipity or some such damn thing.

Fox, I gotta disagree with you about 4 stroke vs 2 stroke. At least the new gen 4 strokes like the YZ450. Those things are at least as fast as the ringdings.

The old school thumpers like the Honda XR's have much smoother power than the 2 smokers which is a real benefit in snotty off road situations.

The modern race 4 strokes are pretty high strung, and not a lot of fun to ride, but still only half as fast as a comparably sized 2 stroke. The non-race 2 strokes (DT's/KDX's, etc) are generally pretty mild and easy to get along with.

This man speaks the truth, or if you can find one a WR250X (fuel injection superiority)

I didn't, but I do have two CT175's that I'd sell cheap. I thought maybe the OP or the other guy here might be interested. I think they're both '71s, and look just like this:

The answer for city riding and enduro is DRZ400sm.

Not a bad bike, but in no way does it answer the question that was the intent of the thread. Read the thread before wasting everybody's time with a nonsensical post... twice.

It's right down the street from me, I'll scope it out if you're interested.

16VCorey, I don't need a whole bike but I'd love to get a fuel tank just like the one in your pic. Don't care about the color as long as it's that style.
