Looking at a 97 Ninja 250 that needs new plastics. Thinking of turning it into a streetfighter style bike. I know that they aren't "fast", but it'll do what I want it to do just fine. Anyone have any links to companies that do things inexpensively with good quality? Mainly concerned about lighting.

on my EX500 (essentially same bike) I pulled the plastics, cut the rear tail, put a GS750 Headlight and bars on
check out Ex-500.com and look under mods

Not "Fast" in bike terms, but able to smoke most cars you come across. I have no usefull info but it sounds like fun.

PLEASE post back up with what you end up doing with the bike if you do it!
I'd love to find a "beater" sportbike and go the tough-looking, presumably cheap route of "streetfighter."
Thanks!

I use aztec8.com for headlights. Good product, better service.

Any Motorcycle junkyards near you? I got old GSX-R headlites, shoo gooed them in old 70's mismatched buckets, and found mounts that fit my forks. Check my Katana in my Garage-not that its anything to really brag about, but the headlite setup was about 30 bucks, and gets the point across. Sorry, I'm still too ignorant to put up a real likk to the bike

Acerbis and other dirtbike style headlight styles are the easy way to go. Check:
http://www.motostrano.com/dualmulspork.html no affiliation, never shopped there.
be sure to check out www.CustomFighters.com I'm pretty sure there's a handful of ex250 'fighters being built on there. There's also a vendor's section for more parts choices.
