for short hops something like this? I kinda like brat bikes that are little more upright. I've got a sport bike to be uncomfortable on.

It hasn't been started in about 5 years. I'm wondering if I need new fuel lines and a rebuild for all four carbs. This thing is shaft drive, btw. Just like an old BMW. It cost me all of $300.

Just got my little kaw running after 5 years sitting. Carbs were totally gacked up, so was petcock and tank had a lot of varnish. I see carb and tank cleaning in your future.

Tank, fuel lines, carbs, plugs, change the oil, fresh battery. Bet it will fire right up like it was just running last week.

I am looking at the braking system for the bike. It has a tiny master cylinder about like the one in a car, and yes the brake fluid is dry. Will the brake lines need replacement? Possibly an new master cylinder?

That is about the largest stator cover I think I've ever seen.

I don't think so, unless they dry rotted. But like the rest the brakes are fairly uncomplicated thigs and pretty durable. Just lube the moving parts and you should be good.

The cafe project looks tempting but I was also looking at getting an 80s vintage Vetter fairing and some saddlebags and making a touring bike.
All this bike madness started when I stopped by a Honda dealer on the way home from work last year and walked out with a new Honda Ruckus scooter. Within a week a neighbor offers me the Kawasaki for $300 and it gets parked next to the Ruckus. Then I go take the class and get my MC endorsement on the license. Three weeks ago I added a Honda CRF 230 to the mix as my dirt bike. Somewhere in between those times a Craigslist bike trailer lands in the backyard. These things are worse than cars, and easier to collect.

There was a guy on an old Kawi forum I was a member of years ago that had one with a sidecar for his dog.
A sidehack Spectre with a pair of Huskies would make for an awesome cruise machine at the local bike get together.

In reply to Mental:
We have a Miata get together at Kellers Drive In here in Dallas almost every Wednesday night during the summer. There are Harley guys on one side of the drive in, and Miata guys on the other and rarely do the two groups meet. Sometimes I bring one of the huskies out with me. The Harley guys actually come over to the Miata side to pet, play with and feed my husky. Now K2, my husky girl associates the sound of V-twin motocycle engine with free hamburgers and french fries.
