I do wear a very nice Snell 2010 helmet, as well as A-stars cuff gloves, and a decent A-stars jacket. If I fall, I may rash up my leg a bit, and I may not. That's why I try not to fall.
This is true. Ragging other motorcyclist about not wearing certain gear is like admonishing a fellow chainsaw juggler for not wearing the approved goggles.
I just wear gear because I want the fall to hurt less should it happen. Well, also because I think it looks cool, but mostly the pain part.
