Nice!

I really like the Thruxton, and the new 'R' has my heart all aflutter... I know I wouldn't be happy with it as an 'only' bike, but I'm thinking I might need a second bike in a couple of years...

Finally got around to ordering some pictures from Killboy. These are from our camping trip in Aug, '16.

Even though it is currently my only bike. I agree with you that it's not an only bike especially as it gets more and more modified. I wish I could have found a special edition. There's just something about the white with a red frame.

Had this DRZ400 sm. It is an awesome bike, great around towner but a little outclessed ont he highway. I geared it down one tooth in the front to pull better and I rarely had it over 60 anyway. Did a tubeless conversion which dropped the wheel weight about 4 pounds for the rear and 3 for the front. Made a luggage rack that would take a pelican box or the soft bag in the photo. Added hand warmers and guards, then rode the heck out of it.

Until I saw this. A 2007 KTM Super Duke. I had to have it. The previous owner had already done a bunch of stuff. Some of it competent, some not so much. Lots of carbon, and a one-off single exhaust that is to loud but very cool looking. Even afte a year of pretty regular riding, I find the bike a little intimidating. It is definitely not the freindly backstreet demon the drz was.

I hear that... I just today struck a deal to trade my wheezy 105HP GS Adventure for the Duke's natural enemy... S1000XR. Riding out to make the trade next friday.

The new bikes are truly amazing, much more power along with intervention to keep you (probably) from killing yourself. BMW did the trick with the new bikes. The boxer was classic and they did a bunch with it, but the new motor is incredible. The Super Duke has no ABS or traction control. It picks up the front wheel and spins the back tire, often at the same time, while coming out of a corner. It can be a little much for an old guy.

I had an FZR 1000 that was like that with only 130 or so HP back in the 90s. It tried to kill me every time I rode it. Great fun when not sucking the seat up into your ass crack with pucker.

The GS Adv I'm trading was the first bike I ever had with ABS. It's actually great. I've never had traction control before either... but I keep telling myself not to put it in "Shut up, I got this" mode for at least the ride home :)

I never thought the traction control or ABS on my Stelvio would be of any use.

I've had them come on a couple times now and they're very seamless, I don't like to rely on them but they may have saved my butt when I was being an idiot.

It's really amazing just how good new bikes are.

I'm happy to have it. On so stupid fast a road bike that you can top gear roll-on with a pillion from 60 to infinity faster than my current bike can get to 30? Gimme all the lean angle ABS, traction control, wheel lift monitoring and what not. Give me an off switch in case I'm diagnosed with a terminal illness... but go ahead and just turn them all on otherwise. :)

Love your old DRZ! I have a DR350 supermoto, on which I did a tubeless conversion, and added a rack. For urban riding or bumpy twisty back roads (my two primary types of riding) I can't think of anything I'd rather be on than a supermoto! :)

I have had it since new. I love the bike. The triple engine is a great and the handling and comfort is perfect for a street bike.
