So I stop to buy some motorcycle oil from a local dealer the other day, and they have a brand-spanking new Star 950 Tour sitting there for $2000 off list at 1.9%. Do they not know that I have zero willpower?!?! Like waving crack at a junkie.

My neighbor has one. While I personally didnt care much for the handling, it told me that I indeed needed a bike with more than 14hp
It also told me that belt drive really is kinda nice.

It is a nice bike, and it is in my garage now. Handling is best described as "relaxed". I am sure it could handle well, but the floorboards are an inch off the road. My wife hates anything over a 1-degree lean angle so I really don't notice, but if you are used to a crotch rocket you would hate this thing!

And not having to oil it every other time you fill the gas tank.

Not slinging oil all over everything, not having to adjust the damn thing every night. Not having to replace it every 5-10K miles. Chains suck.
However, to their advantage, if you're going to be doing hole shots, you don't want a belt.

Belt and shaft will also save your internals on a long ride. Much smoother. I am certian the good Dr could explain medically why, but I have heard stories of guys peeing blood after riding chain sporties for extended periods.
