I now have three, count 'em THREE licensed bikes in the state of Missouri! One TL1000S, one GS1000S and one GS1000.

The problem is that they've been sitting forever and probably have hinky chains and gummed up brakes, to say nothing of gunk in the carbs/FI, stiff throttle/clutch cables, etc.

Anyone have a recommendation on what I should do next? I'm going to have to run them carefully to start with, but the thing I'm most concerned about are brakes. Can I get any significant benefit from replacing the hydraulic fluid without having to rebuild the brakes?

For sure. Flush 'em real good and you'll probably be in good shape.

I have a GS1000S too, along with an '82 Katana and a bunch of other Suzukis. I think it's one of the best looking Japanese bikes ever.

Flushing the brake fluid is a good idea and I imagine the carbs are gummed up as well, but I've never had any particular issues with the chains or cables. It will depend on how they've been stored.

When you dig into it, let's you and me talk about the fuel delivery system in your TL. Mine is still giving me fits.
