Those four words were music to my ears last week.

I had to replace the cooling fan in my 08 Buell and I went to the Harley dealership down the street from me (yeah, I know you're jealous) to check the price of the fan. I got to the guy at the parts counter and he told me to just set up an appointment to have the work done under warranty.

Oh E36 M3! That's awesome! Well it got better. Harley found not only the causes of the shorts (apparently there were two on the fan circuit) but also what cause the whole problem anyway: a leaky rockerbox cover. That job, in total, would have set me back $1,000 if I had them do it without the warranty. Instead, I get to keep my money and my weekend so I'm happy.

I know. It's a Harley. If it ain't leaking oil, it ain't running right.

Rockerboxes have been the bain of Buell owners since they were being made. I thought they licked that problem by using Blast rockerboxes and PCV valves?

I'm riding a '99 tuber so I'm resigned to some leakage.

You'd think that using Blast parts would work, but we replaced the rocker box gasket on my roommates Blast just a month ago when it started spraying on our way to Ocean City MD.

Grtechguy: just buy one! You won't be disappointed. It's tons of fun to ride and when you take a glimpse down at that beautiful Hero Blue, translucent "fuel tank" you'll be glad you bought it. I love my City-X. If I didn't have this, I would have gone for a slammed low-rider version. A friend of mine has one of those and it's sick.

It's pretty comfortable for the job it does. It's as naked as it could be though, so the wind does fatigue you after 5 or 6 hours on the highway. The Ulysses might fare better for long hauls. Plus, it comes with heated grips. Mmmm...

the newer city-x should have the wiring for the heated grips already, not sure when they started doing that.

I'm gonna buy a XB, but I'm on the fence over the 9sx and 12scg. It's gonna come down to whether or not I can touch the ground on the 9.

    I so want a CityX.

Even with my Employee discount (I work at the York H-D plant) - I can't quite afford it. Child support can do that to ya!
