I like the idea of a small..nimble..stunt machine.

The only thing I know about moto trials is Gasgas.

I know the US dealer for GasGas is(was?) in Earl Park, Indiana.

Curious what happens on this thread. Though I should probably stick to craving a trials bicycle. Even more exercise, cheaper, and I can practice riding up the back steps without going anywhere...

A friend of mine has a nice Montesa that I've ridden a few times. It's pretty cool. You learn a lot about patience. The engine is essentially a CR250 Honda, but i think it requires race fuel.

There's still the potential for injury, but it's probably akin to rollerblading: scrapes and bruises mostly, but also a good chance to break your wrist.

I've actually been thinking about making him an offer on the thing, as he bought and never did anything with it. He was already in his 50's when he got it, so I guess it's something you could actually get into when you're older. I have a long row of boulders that I moved to the back of my property and I can't help but think that it would be a perfect place to learn.

I have a '74 Suzuki RL250, but comparing it to a new Gasgas is like comparing the Flintstonemobile to a Ferrari FXX.

I've been considering a trials bike to help me in my work, which is traveling large tracts of land for environmental assessments. I wouldn't be using it for trials.

Yamaha made some nice bikes. Honda had the Reflex, which was a little more road worthy, but had a four stroke. My problem is it seems are the juicy bikes are way up in the NE. Nothing down south.

Adam Raga is the bees knees! That's all I have to add. Trials does look like a lot of fun. Lots of leg work involved.

I am a motocrosser. One of my good friends, and riding buddy was the #1 trials rider in Ontario. I really wanted to try it, and looked forward to getting on a nimble, excellent handling, torquey trials machine. I hated it. It wasn't anything like I expected it to be.

I recommend that you try it first before you buy something.
