Yaaay! Finally got a forum. Sounds like a good time to repost this:

Did you guys HAVE to add this forum in the first week in February though? I think I'm supposed to get another 8 inches of snow this week. If I'm LUCKY I only have to wait 10 weeks or so before I can ride it again. This is torture.

It snowed today and I still rode. Ah the joys of owning a dual sport... that and I'd rather be a little cold then have to find parking on campus.

Cause I'm an idiot, that's why. Rode it for 5 years and then ran across the Duc which I always wanted but couldn't justify (ok my wife wouldn't let me) keeping both. That, and cause I'm an idiot.

Is he on Nighthawk-forums.com? I have a much more detailed build thread over there.

So does this mean no more sprockets pollution in the the off-topic forum?
Actually, can we go through and flag messages in the off topic area with a word like 'spockets' like we do for canoe to get the other posts moved over here?

GRM sprockets forum, yay!
With so many P71s how come we don't have any KZPs here?
I just started riding for the first time in my life only have about 100miles under my belt so far...it's been slow progress. Here's my 1982 NightHawk CB450SC - identical to what Rex has.
Josh's Nighthawk has been one of the nicest Nighthawk's I've seen...very clean, classic yet modern looking.
Here's another modernized NightHawk from the 80s I like a lot:

I was going to put them on craigslist when it gets warm for $1800/Kawasaki and $1000/Yamaha, but for GRM members those prices are definitely OBO...

I hate you, milkmandan.
How big is either? I assume the Yammy is a 600 and the Kawasaki is a 500?

The Ninja is only a 250, but the Yammy is a 600. The rundowns:
1993 Yamaha FZR-600R Doesn't like to start when cold. Runs good and strong otherwise. Cosmetically ugly. Every fairing is a different color. Has stiffer .90kg/mm progressive springs in the forks and braided brake lines in the front. Stops great, 2 finger stoppies are easy. Will do 145mph all day long at Summit Point. Comes with a load of spares.
1999 Kawasaki Ninja 250 Runs great mechanically, starts everyday anyday. Some scuffs and cracks in the fairings here and there. Has heated grips installed. Could use a rear tire in maybe 500-750 miles (~$50 for the Pirelli I'm running now).
Help me get rid of these so I can pay for more track days! :D

How's the clutch on that FZR?
The NASA-MA Tech Cheif has one, and the clutch, well, it sucks. The shaft is always welding itself to the ball. You ever have any issues with it?

I've never had a problem with the clutch in this bike, but I've never really pushed it in bumper-to-bumper traffic. On the track and my in-town commute it's been fine.
