After you pop the top off a can of paint, but before your pour use a 4p nail to punch 1/2 dozen holes in the groove where the lid goes. This allows paint to drain better and the lid won't get stuck.

Wouldn't this cause the paint to dry out faster? Fumes would be able to escape from the can into the atmosphere through these holes wouldn't they?

If it is water/Latex based paint you can use warm water to get it open.

No, this is in the groove where the paint can lid goes. The lid seals the holes.

The lid seals the holes. You can't explain that. (reference might be obscure, sorry)

Wouldn't it have been better to name your thread, "Take your top off"?
