I put a true cool brand 40k capacity cooler on my 88 Silverado C2500 last summer. I don't have a temp gauge on the transmission, but it pulled down the engine temp quite a bit. I ran the lines through the radiator, then a thermostat/bypass, and then the cooler.

40k BTU? I ordered a 14k one.... Can return if its going to be too small. 7x11x1.5" core. Plate/fin type.

Finally got the cooler in, used a B&M 14k btu one, its ~11"x9". My highest observed trans temp has been 190 go far, runs ~150 on the freeway (going back through the tans aftter), so much better! Ill update again when I get some off road in, only have a couple days driving it so far.

Now to drop the pan.....
