After getting tired of looking for proper PPE every time I need to use power tools, I realized something, safety gear of minimal acceptable quality is very cheap, so just keep cheap safety glasses with everything that needs them, hang earmuffs on the lawnmower and loud tools, face shield next to the angle grinder, leather gloves with the welder, etc. Buy it when you buy the equipment. You can still have nicer stuff but you won't be tempted to go without if you misplace it.
