2012 Hyundai Azera new car reviews

Slow and steady wins the race? Not in this case—V6 and 293 horsepower do.
The Hyundai Azera's well-equipped; with navigation system, rear backup camera, dual automatic adjustable and heated seats, it'll satisfy your luxury sweet tooth.

Well-equipped and made with some class, the Azera is a safe, speedy and efficient vehicle. It's front-wheel drive, with a six-speed automatic transmission, and is equipped with most of what you'd find in a relatively comparable Acura TL or Toyota Avalon for a little less of a dent in your wallet.

The Azera can best be compared to a big, long distance jet like a Boeing 767. And when I say compared, I don’t mean coach. We are talking first class here. The Azera is just a great tool to eat up miles. It is plush, has comfortable seats, is well made, and like a jet, has plenty of power. Also like a 767, the Azera is no fighter plane or acrobatic artist. While the chassis is well composed, the steering—like all Hyundais I have driven—has a mile-wide dead spot in the middle. This is not confidence inspiring. These are passenger cars, not driver’s cars. If a driver's car is what you seek, you need to look to more traditional luxury marques like Mercedes or BMW. But for eating up long distances in first class at an upgrade price of only $36,875 (fully equipped) the Azera is a very, very good tool for the job. Once again, Hyundai surprises and impressed with their quality and their value.
