2013 Lexus RX350 new car reviews

Ah, the SUV of royalty. Power, safety, sleek design: What more can an urban commuter want?
Who doesn’t love options like dual-zone automatic climate control, a nine-speaker premium sound system, bluetooth, LCD console display and backup camera? These do tax its weight, though, tipping in at 4178 lbs.

Not much can beat the luxury of a Lexus. This SUV is pretty darn close to hybrid-worthy status for those drivers who have long highway commutes, with its 26 mpg highway, as compared to 28 for its sister, the RX450h hybrid. It’s also around $6600 cheaper than its green semi-counterpart. The 2013 RX350 comes in your choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and of course, all the typical amenities you’d associate with the lavish name.

This one does everything you'd ask of it: It's a comfortable, quiet SUV. Hey, it's a Lexus.

I just don't think it's for me. When I'm ready for a new Lexus, I'd rather have one of their sedans—something closer to the ground that has a bit of spring in its step.

I'm at the Lexus website right now and see that I can do a GS350 for less money. That's where I'd do my shopping.

Nope.

There's nothing in this segment that has instilled in me any desire to buy one. It's comfortable, well-optioned, and drives comfortably. I can't fault it for being a car, I suppose. It's just not a car/truck/uban assault vehicle that I have any desire or need for.
