2016 Honda Pilot Elite AWD new car reviews

While not quite our thing, there’s obviously a place in this world for mid-sized SUVs. For many families they offer the right mix of practicality and style.

Honda broke ground with the 2003 introduction of their Pilot. The big news? Three-row seating with a car-like foundation. It carried people like a truck yet still drove more like a car.

For 2016, the Pilot is all-new. It still looks and drives like a Pilot, but the face definitely follows Honda’s current design language. It’s still powered by a 3.5-liter V6, but Honda says that this one is all-new. Upgrades include direct injection and Variable Cylinder Management. Add in a nearly 300-pound drop in curb weight, and fuel economy numbers are up, too.
