Engine Up and In
We hoisted up and installed the Saab’s engine over the weekend. That was the easy part.

Hoisting the engine into the engine compartment is easy, especially if you have an engine crane like this one.

Once the engine is in there, however, you have to hook up everything. That took the majority of the weekend.
We also had to reinstall the front springs–a major pain on an old Saab.
Saab 99-900 front springs are very quick and easy to install, and remove for that matter. Also the engine and transmission on the model 99 comes out in about 20 minutes…Of course with an exhaust header it takes a bit longer!
