Neon Rallycross Action
Scott and Per took the Neon to Tampa Rally’s April rallycross this past weekend. The car is still in the Stock Front class and we finished first and second in this class, as well as third and fourth overall.

The car survived all 16 runs and made it back home in one piece. The only issues that we noticed were some exhaust leaks and a coolant gauge that tended to run hot after a run or two. We’ve got a new radiator on the way, as well as a short-tube exhaust header from eBay.com
Nice work, guys.
Ya’ll are making me proud.

Saw you guys flying up I-4 on Sunday. I was merging from US 27 coming from the Chin weekend at Sebring as you went by. Couldn’t miss the Neon. Reminds me of another project from years back.
I just shake my head.

have you had any issues with boiling out the power steering fluid? I rally cross a 1995 4 door and it boils it out all the time.

Yes, supposedly the fix is to use the p/s reservoir cap from a 2nd gen Neon. Haven’t tried that yet.

Wasn’t there a P/S cooler available for the Neons as well? Would that solve some of the P/S issues? None the less, the Frog is looking good!
