The upcoming DirtFish SCCA RallyCross National Championship has been relocated from Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, to Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kansas. The August 14-16 dates remain the same.

The reason for the venue change, according to the SCCA release: "to deliver the event participant experience operationally, it was determined that the Road America site would require modifications that are not feasible in 2020 given SCCA’s available resources and time constraints."

In light of the last-minute change, registration will be opening today, July 9 at 3:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. ET).

The DirtFish SCCA RallyCross® National Championship will move to Heartland Motorsports Park next month, retaining the originally scheduled dates of August 14-16.

To deliver the event participant experience operationally, it was determined that the Road America site would require modifications that are not feasible in 2020 given SCCA’s available resources and time constraints. The RallyCross Board (RXB), with support from the SCCA National Staff and SCCA Board of Directors (BoD), has made the difficult decision to relocate the event to Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS.

Road America has been a great partner to SCCA for decades. We, SCCA, simply did not have the time and resources needed to prepare their site for the RallyCross National Championship,” said Mike Cobb, SCCA President and CEO. “We look forward to many great SCCA events at their facility, not the least of which being the 2020 SCCA Runoffs.”

The RXB and National Staff agreed that the best solution with the smallest potential impact to our membership would be to relocate the event to Topeka, the site used for the event in 2017,” said Kent Hamilton, RXB Chairman. “Returning to a site where we’ve already competed will give us an easier path toward a successful event. More importantly, it allows us to keep the event scheduled for the same weekend.”

Due to these last-minute adjustments, registration, originally scheduled to open yesterday, will open today, July 9th at 3pm CDT.
