Lisa Noble has resigned as President and CEO of the Sports Car Club of America to pursue other challenges, the SCCA Board of Directors announced today.

Noble had previously served on the Board of Directors, including as Chairman of the Board, for six years before transitioning to the President’s role in October of 2013. An SCCA member since a teenager, Noble will continue to compete in the Club’s road racing and U.S. Majors Tour program in her Formula Vee.

A nation-wide search for the next SCCA President and CEO will begin immediately. There is no hard deadline set for the hire.

This is a bit off topic, but I think the President and CEO should be different. President should be a rotating position elected by the competition boards and be in charge of the "competition" side of the SCCA. CEO should be the manager of the national office and be in charge of the "business" side of the SCCA and be a semi permanent position (held until resignation or being fired by the board).

It's difficult of course to find someone that is everything to everyone when about 50% of your members are inactive, and then of the remaining 50%, 90% are only interested in Solo and by contrast Pro Racing, which less than 1% of members are involved in, brings in the majority of non-dues revenue.

I promise to bring crapcan racing to the SCCA, make all Korean cars competitive in all forms or racing and banning street tires for anywhere but the street. Who's withe me?

Isn't that a redundant statement?

I promise everyone a first place finish, improved gas mileage, and an overall improved outlook - due to having me in charge.

Also.... I will eliminate half the classes in Solo, every place is first, there will no longer be timers to cause delays and everyone gets a miata.

It would be nice if the next guy could add a few complications to the otherwise straightforward and mundane General Competition Rules.

So, what is the story here? Does she already have a new job lined up or was she asked to leave by the board? Do they not like track night in america because it is attracting new members?

If everyone gets a Miata then you can eliminate WAY more than half the classes. :)
