The Best Mitty Ever

Ford was this year's featured marque, and fans of the blue oval were not disappointed.
The fan walks at the Mitty gave spectators an up-close and personal experience of machines that many people dream of posing for a picture with.
Car corrals were packed on Saturday.
The Mitty's historical gems aren't only found in the paddock. Many were sprinkled about the infield, open for the public to enjoy.
There are extremely few places you can enjoy on-track competition between cars like this.
One of the best things about the Mitty is the access to the paddock. Spectators can look on as team members tinker on legendary pieces of equipment.
Many of the Classic Motorsports project cars were on display as well. Thank you to Reliable Carriers for helping make that possible.
The Grassroots Motorsports Skidpad Challenge gave everyone an opportunity to experience the handling limits of their own cars in a safe environment.
Spectators also had a chance to pilot their own cars around historic Road Atlanta during parade and touring laps.

The 39th running of Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty Presented by Hagerty at Road Atlanta could not have been more spectacular. Record crowds enjoyed perfect weather and an automotive nirvana second to none. The legendary track hosted some of the very best HSR vintage racing throughout the weekend, featuring Ford and Can-Am monsters plus many other historically significant machines.

Spectators were also treated to hosts of infield activities, including expansive car corrals, parade laps, the Concours d’LeMons, and the Grassroots Motorsports Skidpad Challenge. The best way we can describe it is a circus for gearheads young and old. This event could not have happened without the support of our partners: Hagerty, Michelin, Ford, Reliable Carriers, Vredestein, G-Force, Flyin’ Miata and Cobra Automotive.

Beautiful weather. This is the only spectating event I do each year...wouldn't miss it. So much fun to camp out with a very diverse group of gearheads. My liver funciton should be back to normal by Wednesday.

I was talking to the Carib guys yesterday. While we're all from different places and favor different brands, in the end it's our love of cars that brings us together.

That and breaking bread.
