You Need This: Toyota With Rally Pedigree

Who can say no to a turbocharger and all-wheel drive? Today something of that nature caught our eye at Duncan Imports and Classic Cars. It’s a Japanese-market 1988 Toyota Celica GT-Four Coupe—known as the All-Trac Turbo here in the states—with 91,997 miles on the clock. They’re asking $10,900 for it.

Problem with these cars is that nearly everything for them is unobtainable. Transmissions don't like power. Diffs didn't like power. Engine makes great power. So there you are. And let's not even start on the body panels that WILL get wrecked on the first snow day.

Wasn't it Juha Kankunnen going suspiciously fast on Spanish tarmac that got them caught?

Buy a nice ST165 All-trac, carefully remove and store the drivetrain. Replace with a bolt-in a cheap JDM ST205 drivetrain, which I know for a FACT puts our more hp than the advertised ~240PS and even has factory provisions for anti-lag for homologation reasons. Enjoy. IF they ever get the collector's appreciation they deserve, swap back.

Not that I've thought about it much.

ST205 antilag system that was equipped from the factory and totally non-functional....because homologation:
