Your Projects: Building a Mid-Engined, Open-Top Racer From Scratch

Mid-engine V8 power, a hammer-formed body and no roof in sight: Those are just a few descriptors for forum member MarshHoltRacing's ambitious Barchetta project.

The project may be in its early stages, but considering how well planned it is and the parts already acquired, you could call us interested.

Power will come from a mid-mounted Chevrolet small-block V8 coupled to a Richmond Super T-10 transmission. As mentioned before, the body will be hand-hammered aluminum over a tube frame.

No bodywork has started so far, but that doesn't mean we have to just look at pictures of some really cool components.

Thanks to the power of computer-aided design, we can get a pretty good idea of what this will look like when all is said and done.

Okay, I am in the middle of swapping a BMW m60 fitted with N63 twin turbos (the manifolds almost bolt up!) into a Boxster S.  Now you are making me feel like s**t for not going N/A.  Now I have to sell my engine, buy an LSx, and another transmission adapter, and ofcourse, get all the cool intake pipes for the LSx.  You guys are killing me!
