Your Projects: Monster $2000 AMC Spirit

A little while back member Dusterbd13 posted that he “accidentally bought a car and created a $2000 Challenge team.” We think that these accidents should happen more often.

This effort has centered around a 1980 AMC Spirit now motivated by a Ford 5.0-liter V8. You can skip to the end and check out the finished product right here.

Want to watch this thing run in person? The Grassroots Motorsports $2017 Challenge takes over Florida’s Gainesville Raceway this weekend—that’s October 20-21, 2017. Spectating is totally free.

We can't wait to see how our car stacks up against the rest of the field either!

That thing is awesome!  Maybe the best looking challenge car I've seen.  Hopefully runs as good as it looks.

I haven't been following your build thread, but that's really, really, really well done.

To the point that IF the car does not perform, spend the next year tuning the crap out of it.

What you did really deserves that treatment.

That's a heck of a car for 5 or 10 grand!
