What makes this particular Mitsubishi Evo V special? Sure, it’s a car that was never formally imported into North America and represents a high point in Mitsubishi’s motorsport history, but this Evo is unique in that it’s a learning tool for forum user TimM’s daughter.

After sitting at a local repair shop since 2015—when an engine failure sidelined the car—TimM was finally able to purchase the Mitsubishi after bugging its previous owner “for more than a year.”

Since then, it’s been an ongoing learning experience in restoration and renovation, with the most recent updates focusing on refurbishing the rear suspension and brakes.

See how this late ‘90s Mitsubishi is being used as a classroom over on the Builds and Project Cars Forum—and, with any luck, you just might learn a thing or two along the way.
