Your Projects: Using Factory Parts to Build a Plug-and-Play VW Golf SportWagen

User mfennell admits that upgrading a 2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen may not be the most ambitious project on the forum, but it perfectly validates our recent post showing how the brand’s MQB platform can be upgraded with factory parts.

Starting with a stock, all-wheel-drive, manual transmission SportWagen, mfennell dipped into the parts bin and grabbed a turbo from a Golf R, a clutch from a TTRS, and a shifter kit from an S3.

The install was practically plug-and-play and, within a few months, mfennell had increased the power of the SportWagen from 170 to somewhere in the 320-350 range.
