Your Projects: When A Simple Truck Project Spirals into an LS-Powered Nissan Hardbody

When forum user Rattmadnu bought a 1987 Nissan Hardbody in February of last year, the original plan was to build a flatbed for it. Then, maybe one day, drop in a Nissan KA four-cylinder engine.

Of course, that's not what happened between then and now.

Instead, the truck now sports an LS engine, an external roll cage, and a custom-fabricated, long-travel front suspension.

How exactly did this simple project spiral out of control? Rattmadnu hasn't revealed that information yet, but seeing as this build is being migrated over from a different forum, we expect many updates in the near future. Make sure you head over to the build thread now in the Builds and Project Cars forum so you don't miss out.

That's awesome!

I'd love to take something like an older squared bodied S10 or Ranger, and drop in a FWD Hona K24 or maybe the Ecoboost from a Focus ST or some other such ridiculousness to make a mid-engined mini-truck that HANDLES.

Alas, I don't have the fab/design skills to make it or the cash to pay someone to build it for me.
