LeGrand Mk 18 : Back on Track Aug 9, 2011

Because we were been busy making changes to the LeGrand’s bodywork and aero features, about five months had passed since our last autocross. We got back in the game and blew off the cobwebs with some success, posting the FTD for a local event and finishing eighth on overall index. That’s not too bad considering we were having some serious traction issues with the DeLand site’s notorious “marbles.”

Results can be found here, while some rough in-car video footage from the event is posted below.

I couldn't imagine running a shifter cart at that site. The LeGrand looked hairy enough!

As someone who did a fair amount of autocross who now races a D sports racer, and who instructs: I still have a hard time with “fast in the fast parts and slow in the slow parts”. That was simply a slow corner - even on Hoosier 25Bs. I'm looking forward to doing some AX w/ the DSR eventually.
