Saab 99: More Saab Work Aug 2, 2007
We decided to go ahead with the fuel cell plan and have been working on getting the chassis ready to mount it. That essentially means cleaning up the area where the cell will go and welding up the access panels left over from the stock fuel tank. We also found and repaired a small patch of rust on the inner fender that was hidden by the factory filler pipe.
We had a pretty simple solution for welding up the round holes: We just removed the gaskets from the original access covers, cleaned up the covers and tack welded them in there.
While we had the welder out, we welded up an additional support bracket for the light bar, wrapping around to the underside of the bumper.
