Honda Civic Si: Binders are on the way Jun 17, 2005
This morning we received an e-mail from Autohaus Arizona stating that our rotors were already on the way. They even included a UPS tracking number. Our Hawk pads are also en route. We couldn’t decide between the HPS and HP Plus pads for the fronts, so we ordered a set of each. We’re going to run the HPS on the rear. The HPS is a high-performance street pad, while the HP Plus is a little more suited for autocross and track days—less fade-resistance and a higher friction coefficient. While the performance capabilities of the HP Plus pads are greater than the HPS pieces, some dust and noise may be the tradeoff. We figured this would be a good chance to sample two very popular pad compounds and get some real-world feedback.
On a related note, this afternoon a friend asked if we were interested in attending a Chin Motorsports track day at Sebring….
