Hittin’ the Rollers May 12, 2010

On our way to the Classic Motorsports Mitty event at Road Atlanta last week, we stopped by Balanced Performance for some work on their Dynojet dynamometer.

Our baseline runs with the installed header, exhaust and intake were right around the 100-horsepower mark. Some replacement computer chips from Techtonics Tuning got those numbers up to 113 horsepower and 124 lb.-ft. of torque. That's quite respectable for our mildly modified Golf--credit goes to the well-built Techtonics race header and full exhaust, as you can really feel this car breathe well at the upper limits of the tachometer.

Final Golf Testing May 28, 2010

Our Golf spent the day at the Ocala Gran Prix kart track for some final testing. We worked with the anti-roll bars and ride height to improve our lap times. By day's end, we were turning times that had us keeping up with much more expensive machinery.
