It certainly sounds like something that Mike would have built. 
We brought project Rotary Miata out to our $2016 Challenge for some exhibition runs. Danny Shields has many SCCA Solo national championships under his belt, and took our Frankenstein roadster through the autocross course. He seemed impressed and said he liked the car very much.
